Named after the Nova Scotia community where musical director Roger Nelson spent much of his formative years, Deerfield, founded in 2001, has been a staple in the Halifax indy music scene for nearly 20 years now.

Though the line-up has changed over the years, the sound and sentiment remains. Today Deerfield is made up of husband and wife duo, Katherine McQueen and Roger Nelson on vocals and guitars, the core of the band is rounded out with Devin Shael Fox on the bass and Adam Martin on the drums.

Together, this group of friends and family play a wide range of music related to the Country sound. Heavy on twang, and classic sounds, the band usually has anywhere up to 4 sets of music on hand to present. Classic Country, Outlaw Country, Garage Country, Classic Rock, arranged in a classic country style, and several dozen original songs in a country style, fill out the material the band draws on for their live shows.
